Every farmgirl knows working in the summer garden can really wreck havoc on your hands. The combination of lemon, oil olive, and sea salt will leave your hands feeling fresh and as smooth as a citygirl’s manicure! The lemon in this body scrub can pull the smell of green onions and garlic from your handshake. To smooth rough areas gently press the sea salt in the body scrub in a circular motion.

DIRECTIONS:

In a small bowl mix the olive oil and sea salt together. (Once the salt is coated by the oil, the lemon can’t dissolve it!)

Next, zest the lemon rind until only white it remaining on the outside of the lemon. Add the zest to the salt and oil mixture.

Roll the lemon firmly on a cutting board to burst the juice capsules. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze over the mixture. Use a fork or spatula to blend and mash creating a body scrub.

Print the Summer Thyme Mason Jar Labels onto white card stock. Cut labels from printed card stock or punch out. Place label inside lid and seal.

Store scrub in an air tight container for up to one month.  Yields 2 – 4 oz mason jars

I just ran out of my sugar scrub and this recipe caught my eye! You are certainly right about gardening being hard on your skin….this looks like a fab recipe, thanks.

Could you make this with a grapefruit or orange too?
