Our Hand Warming Hearts are great for your pockets on a cold day. They provide some arthritis relief anytime of the year!

SUPPLIES:

  • white sewing thread
  • 4 cups uncooked rice
  • 1/4 yard white felt or fabric scrap
  • sewing needle
  • scissors
  • heart pattern template
  • 8.5 x11 white paper

 DIRECTIONS:

Print and cut heart pattern. Trace the heart pattern onto your felt or fabric. Trace 8 hearts total.

Cut out all 8 hearts. Place the right sides together, with the wrong side facing out.  Hand stitch around the hearts leaving a small opening for turning.  Turn each heart right-side out.  Use a pencil or turning stick to help you push out the points.  Fill each heart with 1/2 Cup to 1 Cup of rice.  Whip stitch the opening closed.

To Apply:

Heat one heart for 1 minute in a microwave oven on high.  The rice will hold the heat for up 20 minutes.
